Focus
Our work is our calling. Families receive a warm welcome at JoySpring and we have a special passion for women facing unique pregnancy situations. Whether it is older mothers, single mothers, mothers with other health concerns or those planning a VBAC, our midwives align ourselves with each client's needs and work as partners together toward positive and safe pregnancy outcomes.
Advocacy
We are absolutely committed to helping each family identify the choices that best suit their healthcare goals. In each individual case, we keep the woman as the centre of care - advising and advocating so that her informed choices are carried out to the fullest possible extent. We accept every opportunity for listening to her voice and fostering her personal strength and confidence.
Teaching
JoySpring is a teaching practice where midwifery students engage in client care under our direct supervision. We encourage clients to embrace students' active roles, yet we always respect the level of student involvement chosen by the woman. We are also keen about mentoring newly registered midwives and love to pass on the torch of compassionate, woman-centred care.
Collaboration
We understand that when women experience pregnancy challenges, consultation with specialists might become necessary. JoySpring has established collaborative relationships with obstetrical colleagues and we participate with dedication as members of the woman's care team. We want each family to receive the maternity services they need and deserve.
